Over the last few years, a new paradigm of leadership has emerged. It is based not on completion of tasks but on awareness, empathy and teamwork.
In his well known classic "Principle-Centered Leadership", Stephen Covey discussed the importance of maintaining a balance among personal, family and professional life. He also advocated living by a principle-centered core in order to unleash the creativity, talent, and energy within ourselves and others needed as a leader, and enjoy a more balanced, more rewarding, more effective life.
Consulting companies such as McKinsey have been working on creating models which reflect this new approach. Priority is placed on the development of, first and foremost, self leadership before the ability to lead others. In fact, the most difficult person to lead and manage might just be yourself.
One of the key strengths of self leadership is the ability to own and manage your time. Most people believe that time management is about filling their schedule and are therefore reluctant to embrace a time management discipline because they think it will make their life too structured and less free flowing. It is actually the opposite. Time management is not about filling in every slot in your schedule with fixed, unmovable activities; it is about being deliberate what you want to do with your time and attention, and therefore - since every moment defines you - create the life you want with the results you want in all areas.
Come to this workshop to find out what self leadership is, and develop the techniques to own your time, manage your energy, and enjoy your newfound freedom. You may bring to the workshop any particular issues that you want to address, e.g. studying more efficiently, or making time for personal activities etc., and work on them during the course.
