Competency

The new Common Core Program intentionally included attributes and skillsets, presented in forms of competencies, that are desired for our graduates.

Competency describes students’ ability to master the knowledge and/or skills required to perform in tasks/real-life situations. Essential competencies are identified and will be taught and/or assessed along with academic knowledge in the 3 common core groups. These attributes and skillsets are categorized into 4 broad competencies which include 15 sub-competencies, whereby students will be assessed using a set of generic, standardized 5-point rubrics for each sub-competency.
