Approval of Course Changes

Although common core courses are offered after a critical evaluation and review process, changes may be introduced to approved courses as a result of an on-going self-review process for improvement; and some may be removed from the common core course list.

All proposals to change or delete a common core course must be endorsed by the course offering unit and its School before submitting to Undergraduate Core Education (UCE) Team, Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies. These proposals will then be reviewed by the relevant Course Review Panel (CRP), the Committee on Undergraduate Core Education (CUCE) or the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies (CUS) as appropriate.

The requisite forms, as well as the committee/panel involved in the review and approval of various types of course changes or deletion, are summarized below.

Approval is not required when changes or updating are made to teaching activities and assessment. They may report these changes at the point of change to the UCE Team for record purpose.
