Whether you are aware of it or not, Multi-channel (Multi-screen) Video Art is around us and currently used widely by many corporations. The advertisement video screens installed along the MTRC escalators in Causeway Bay and those mounted on the walls of fashion shops are two examples of the design using this concept.
This course will introduce the concepts and artworks of influential multi-channel video artists. You will be able to explore the spatial, performative and interactive elements of video installation art. Through hands-on in-class activities, you will learn to grasp the basic skills of managing moving image and to produce your own multi-screen artwork. Let’s walk through this journey to experience the wonders and fun of video production.
This course is designed for those who have little or no exposure to the arts, as well as those who have training in one or more art form. Some experience on image editing or manipulation will help but not compulsory. Any undergraduate with an interest in arts and creativity are welcome to enroll.
