University education is more than professional training. We expect our students to develop themselves as intellectuals, responsible citizens and independent thinkers with the heart and aspiration to excel in their endeavors. They would appreciate and respect cultural diversities, serve the communities, and take the lead to advance social justice and the well-being of mankind.
The General Education Forum aims to broaden students’ exposure and help develop critical thinking skills through informal chatting, discussion and exchange of views on a wide variety of topics from different perspectives. We expect the discussions to be objective, analytical and evidence-based, but not emotional and finger-pointing, that would eventually culminate on generating among students and the university community a positive and constructive mindset in approaching issues.
