Advisory Board for the Undergraduate Common Core Program

The Advisory Board for the Undergraduate Common Core Program is set up to provide support and counsel to the Committee on Undergraduate Core Education on issues central to the Undergraduate Common Core Program including its academic content, strategy for future development and quality related issues. The Board normally meets once a year with a view to:

  • Receiving and reviewing reports on the common core, recommending to the CUCE improvement in specific areas, and highlighting good practices;
  • Evaluating the quality of the common core program against external reference points;
  • Advising strategies for the development of the common core program.

Members comprise external experts from the academic sector and the community including

  • Not more than five academic faculty or community/social leaders or representatives from both international and local organizations
  • One HKUST academic faculty actively engaged in the University Common Core Program
  • Chair of the Committee on Undergraduate Core Education as ex-officio
