Regulations for the University Common Core

Beginning from the 2010-11 academic year, the general education requirement in undergraduate programs is restructured as common core requirements. Students admitted in 2010-11 or after are subject to the Regulations for the University Common Core.

Considerations for fulfillment of the University Common Core requirements are subject to the following:

  • Students must select courses from the common core course lists and take them in the academic year in which they are listed. Courses not included on the lists for the specified year cannot be used to satisfy the common core requirements.
  • Courses that are listed under more than one common core area can only be used to count towards one of the listed areas, but not all.
  • Common core courses may be used to satisfy other graduation requirements, subject to other restrictions as specified by the student’s major program (if any).
