This Forum is open to all members of the HKUST community: faculty, students, staff and alumni. Please observe the following rules when you submit posts to the Forum. Repeated offences of these rules will result in the banning/blocking of your account on this Forum.

  1. Give objective and constructive comments. Keep your tone positive. When you give criticisms, always also demonstrate efforts to suggest solutions or ways for improvement.
  2. Stay on topic. We encourage open discussion and debate as long as it relates to the topic of the thread at hand. Irrelevant posts may be moved to a more appropriate location.
  3. Show courtesy to each other and respect different views. Profanity and insults will not be tolerated. Posts that get personal or finger-pointing may be removed.
  4. Respect copyrighted materials. Cite the source when you quote or use copyrighted materials. Plagiarism, warez, cracks, serials or any other forms of illegally obtained copyrighted content is not allowed. Selling or trading illegally copied materials is an offense, which will be removed when reported or discovered.
  5. Do not spam. No blatant advertising. The Forum is for facilitating exchange of ideas. It is not operated as a platform for promotion of departments, societies or events. Any ads noted in your comments, ‘stealth’ marketing, etc. will be removed.
  6. No indecent content, such as violent, obscene or hateful words/images/videos.
  7. Report inappropriate posts. Use the “Report This Post” button to report inappropriate posts. It is located at the top right of every post on the Forum. However, use it reasonably.
  8. Be sure to have fun! Get to know someone who can inspire you with exciting views, new insights, or unique or different perspectives.

The interpretation of the above rules is solely up to the moderator team of this Forum and may be changed at any time without prior notice. The moderator team reserves the right to remove posts that are construed or determined by the team as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. If you have questions about forum rules, write to the moderator team.
